This interactive, in-person training introduces early childhood educators to the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) 2025, California's formative assessment instrument designed to document children's learning, development, and progress. Participants will gain an overview of the purpose, structure, and key features of the updated DRDP 2025, including developmental domains, measures, and rating levels. Through discussion, guided practice, and real-world examples, participants will explore how ongoing observation and documentation inform accurate ratings and support responsive, individualized teaching. This session is ideal for educators who are new to the DRDP or are transitioning to the 2025 version.

PECS Level 1 Training (13 Hours) Workshop Description This intensive 13-hour interactive workshop teaches educators and caregivers how to implement a picture-based communication system that helps individuals develop functional communication skills. Participants will learn the underlying principles, implementation process, and strategies for creating an effective learning environment. The workshop also explores the strengths and limitations of different communication methods and why picture-based communication can be an effective starting point for many learners. Designed for educators, therapists, and paraeducators.

Series Includes: Session 1: In-person learning focused on age-appropriate transition assessment, measurable postsecondary goals, coordinated transition services, and annual transition goals. Session 2: Virtual coaching to reflect on implementation, problem-solve challenges, receive feedback, and strengthen transition planning practices. Session 3: In-person, project-based learning where participants apply their learning to review, refine, and strengthen transition plans using real student examples and collaborative feedback. Participants will leave with practical tools, implementation strategies, and a stronger framework for developing transition plans that connect student strengths, interests, and preferences to meaningful postsecondary goals and improved adult outcomes.
